Film Musings

june movie round up

what I was watching in May 2025

One of my 2025 resolutions is to watch more movies! See what happened in May here!

–///–

Well, now I’m back to 2024 levels of movie watching… possibly even 2023.

June was the last month I could take my baby to the baby cinema screenings (he is now too old), and as I’ve been busy using my sexy, discounted, Apple TV membership during my at-home screentime, I’ve seen about half of the thriller series Slow Horses instead of any movies on a small screen.

With my baby fully grown (one years old), it may be a while before I’m back in a cinema, so I probably should have made more of an effort to make June count. Which I didn’t do.

The baby and I saw a very mediocre thriller, then a mixed bag zombie(ish) movie, that leaves a more pleasant aftertaste than it left taste (I don’t quite understand that), which may well just be the result of me mourning the new caesura of my cinema-visiting days. By that I mean I now remember it as quite good, because it’s unevenness is unevenly less fun in the first half…

What happens next for cinema in my life? Will the first months of this year prove to have been a golden personal era?

Find out next month, ONLY here on TriumphOfTheNow.com (or by following me directly on Letterboxd).

Below is my tiny June letterboxd diary. Not great. But, alas, still hitting the target of the initial resolution, so we’re all still gravy, friends!!!

To see my brief reviews of these films (and everything else I’ve read this year), head to my profile.

Or, instead, disagree with me in the comments below…

Thanks again!
