Video: Santander (a 40 minute improvised monologue)

40 mins of talk and shots of rainy northern spain

I don’t really talk any more. To anyone. To myself. I simply haunt places where I feel haunted and sometimes express feeling here.

Breaking out of that habit on a brief, two day trip to the rain-sodden and windswept northern Spanish coast, I recorded the following improvised monologue where I explore my lack of a social life, mental illness, my experience with various treatments for mental illness, the death penalty, the need for prison abolition, tarot reading, tripping, shame, regret and how hard it is to exist when you don’t have a single shred of hope…

cw: mental illness, suicide ideation, substance use, weight gain, body image, etc (you could argue that it’s also anti-medicine in places, you could argue that it promotes the death penalty, etc… It’s very… ah… unrestrained…)
