This episode features a reading from THE PLEASURE OF REGRET, a 2020 text published by BROKEN SLEEP BOOKS. The book contains poems and essays exploring class, romance, illness, ageing, mental illness and all the other serious topics raised elsewhere in this series.

‘UNDER THE LECTERN’ is an essay written after attending an academic conference (as a non-academic) all about the British writer Malcom Lowry. SMH reflects on what lead them to being at that conference and how the experience made them feel and reflect on their own personal history.
