I was recently invited to join my hairless friend Martin Corrigan in a new video-podcast adventure, THE BIG BALD BOOK CLUB, which is produced by LAFS, the London Arts Facilitation Society.
The show is described as follows:
Welcome to the BIG BALD BOOK CLUB, where two bald comedians talk about books… with no hair and no nonsense. (There may be some nonsense.) Martin (who prefers more pictures than words) hasn’t really read a lot, while Scott Manley Hadley has read more books than they ever had hairs.
Join Martin and Scott in the BBBC as they read – and sometimes re-read – some of the greatest, some of the baldest and (when schedules demand) some of the shortest books ever written.
Episode 3 sees begrudging agreement that the novel behind Blade Runner is a good, solid, read. (My prose thoughts on it can be found here.)
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?: this novel – the inspiration for the classic film Blade Runner and its less-classic sequel – makes it very clear on page one that no one dreams of electric sheep. But what do Martin Corrigan and Scott Manley Hadley dream of? We don’t know, they don’t discuss that here.
I think/hope there will also be an audio only version for people, like me, who are millennial or older, but I’ll look into that. For now, please just close your eyes as you listen and let the light literary chat overwhelm you…
Thank you so much for reading TriumphoftheNow.com! If you like what you’ve read, please subscribe, share and order one of my books. If you love what you’ve read, why not order me something frivolous and noisy from this Amazon wishlist or make a quick donation via my ko-fi page?
I’m currently focusing on parenting and creative practice, so small donations are appreciated now more than ever!
